By train

There are two train stations in Lille : Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe, about 400m apart.

Lille Europe is a transit station which receives TGV trains coming from other parts of France, "Eurostar" trains from London and "Thalys" trains from Brussels. A few TGVs from Paris and heading for the coast may also stop here.

Lille Flandres is a terminus for TGVs from the Gare du Nord in Paris.
To get to the Lilliad Learning Center, take the underground at Lille Flandres station, heading towards "4 Cantons" (journey time: 20 minute) and get off at "Cité Scientifique - Professeur Gabillard" in Villeneuve d'Ascq.

By Road

From A1 (Paris > Lille), A23 (Valenciennes > Lille) or A27 (Bruxelles > Lille)

  • Follow Villeneuve d'Ascq direction
  • Leave the motorway at junction Cité Scientifique-Métro 4 cantons
  • Go straight over the crossroads and then straight over the roundabout near the underground station :
    Métro - Subway "4 Cantons" to arrive to the entrance of the Campus car park.

By Air

From Lille-Lesquin airport
Lille has an airport at Lesquin in the south of the city where bus and taxis are available. The bus service takes passengers to the train stations in the centre of Lille in 20 minutes. University of Lille 1 is a 10-minute taxi journey from Lille-Lesquin aiport.

From Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport (north of Paris)
You should catch a TGV (High Speed Train) to Lille from the SNCF railway station, which is in the airport itself. The journey takes about an hour. For further details of train times, see the French railways website -

From Orly airport (south of Paris)
You must first travel to the centre of Paris. For that you need to take the Orlyval shuttle that takes you to the RER station Anthony, then take the RER B (faster trains which cross Paris in 15 minutes) from RER station Anthony to Paris Gare du Nord Station, where you can catch a TGV which will take you directly to the centre of Lille. The journey lasts an hour and there is a train service every hour during normal periods and every half hour in the rush hour during the week.

From Brussels Zaventem airport
You should catch a regional express train (or take a taxi) to Brussels-Midi station. From here, a "Eurostar" train or a TGV will take you directly to Lille in 38 minutes.
